The Meet & Greets are sessions for leisure, gaming, and learning with various video game developers from the Caribbean Coast. These sessions are designed for anyone interested in learning or enhancing development processes within the video game industry from different perspectives, as well as for those who want to meet and connect with others who share this passion.
As the community began to engage in the Meet & Greets, new topics emerged, and companies were invited to participate based on suggestions from attendees during the June sessions.
Thus, our fourth Meet & Greet gaming and analyzing, took place on July 5th at Digital Kingdom. This space was opened to the public thanks to the continuous participation of their CEO, Juan David Salazar, in our Meet & Greets. During this session, we played various video games while analyzing their MDA model (mechanics, dynamics, aesthetics), and we also had a discussion on topics related to integration and version control in video games.
For the fifth Meet & Greet, held on July 19th, we were given the opportunity to visit Parametrica 3D’s, thanks to the support of the company’s lead designer, who invited us to learn about the best practices implemented in the process from 3D modeling to object printing. Attendees were able to observe and experience the production processes for the various services offered by Parametrica 3D, including testing the scanner that facilitates the reconstruction of objects from modeling to 3D printing.
To close out our July sessions, we held our sixth Meet & Greet on Friday, July 26th. This session focused on how to organize your creative project before beginning its development. Local video game studios (Blazing Soft, GuarapoLabs, and Aventuras Bonitas) and independent developers shared their experiences and processes within their studios. Additionally, we conducted a joint analysis with applied examples on best practices for creating a character controller, led by the Co-Founder of Aventuras Bonitas.
During July, our community grew to over 70 people, all of whom shared different visions but the same passion for the video game industry and digital content development.
